Hi lovely crafty friends, today I have something fun to share with you again, I seem to say that a lot, but what can I say, crafting really is fun:-) I made the backgrounds for these cards with Distress Oxides and a brayer and I used Rubber Dance Stamps for the focal point and to add more texture.

The brayered backgrounds are super easy to make, especially with the distress oxide inks that are so forgiving when adding layers. Because they are opaque you don't get the horrible muddy colour so easy. I share a bunch of tips on how to get the best result for creating a gorgeous background. So be sure to watch today's video to see all techniques in action.
For the mini cards I used Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth Card ( CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) and the small Ranger Ink Mini Brayer ( SBC | JGG ) which works best for this technique. You can add the ink in parts of the cards and in the middle better without spilling lots of ink or colouring the complete cards. The ultra smooth card is one of my favorite kind of card to use for a bunch of techniques.
I did all cards at once, sort of bulk crafting and this way you can use all colours and get different backgrounds, it saves you time cleaning the brayer multiple times. I used Craft Perfect Ultra Smooth Card ( CST | CRF | TNCUK | TNC ) for the mini cards and the bigger card and Carta Bella Paper Linen Texture - Ultra White ( SBC ) for the mat and the card base.
After I brayered the background I used the Tonic Studios - Tim Holtz - Stamp Platform ( SBC | TNCUK ) to stamp the Mix A Sentiment ( RBB ) with Stormy Sky ( SBC | CRF | CST | JGG ) on the cards all in different places.
For the focal point I stamped the big leaves from the I Love Leaves set ( RBB ) with Peacock Feathers ( SBC | CRF | CST | JGG ) and Spiced Marmalade ( SBC | CRF | CST | JGG )
And I used the same colours on the bigger cards in the background, I stamped them using the Stamp Platform ( SBC | TNCUK ) again. This way I could stamp it a few times and not add too much pressure to get the grunge look. And I coloured the edges of the card with a Mini Ink Blending Tool ( SBC | CRF | CST | JGG )
On the orange cards I used some fine gold thread behind the mini cards for a fun touch and some texture.
And I finished the cards with words from the the Mix A Sentiment ( RBB ) stamp.
I hope you like this post. Thanks for stopping by and make sure to keep on crafting!
