7 Ways To Use Distress Oxide Ink Sprays without Spraying

Hallo lieve knutsel vrienden, in deze blogpost ga ik het hebben over Distress Oxide ink sprays. Dezelfde super leuke inkt als de stempels dozen maar dan als spray. En ik heb 7 manieren, eigenlijk 8:-) om ze te gebruiken zonder the sprayen.

Hi lovely crafty friends, in this blogpost I am going to talk about Distress Oxide Ink Sprays. The same super fun ink as the Oxide ink pads but then as a spray. And I have 7 ways, actually 8:-) to use them without spraying.

Eerst over de sprays, iets wat me nog opviel is de kanker waarschuwing op het label, Ik heb schildklierkanker gehad ongeveer 12 jaar geleden en ik vond het erg vreemd om dit tegen te komen op een knutsel product dat bedoeld is om plezier van te hebben, toch? Dus ik heb het nagevraagd bij Ranger en dit is hun antwoord:

First something about the sprays, something that I noticed is that there is a cancer warning on the label, I have had thyroid cancer about twelve years ago and it came across pretty strange to me having that on a craft product which is supposed to be fun, right? So I reached out to Ranger and asked them about it and here is their reply:

Ik heb al een hele tijd over de sprays nagedacht, en toen bedacht ik 5 manieren om ze te gebruiken zonder te sprayen.

To me this seems like a overprotective way by the government to make sure they are protected against any future claims.
It had me thinking about the sprays for quite some time, so I came up with 5 ways to use them without spraying.

Nu vraag je je misschien af waarom ze met een spray zijn gekomen, want er zijn inkers die je zou kunnen gebruiken met een sprayfles. Het verschil is dat deze inkt dezelfde onverdunde inkt is als de stempeldoos. Als je het in een sprayfles gebruikt, voeg je wat water toe om er een inkt van te maken die je kunt sprayen, maar dan heb je de inkt in een verdunde vorm. De Distress Oxide spray is exact dezelfde inkt als in de stempeldoos maar dan vloeibaar.

Now maybe you are wondering why they have come up with a spray as there are inkers that you could use with a spray bottle. The difference is that this ink is the same undiluted ink as the ink pad. When you use it in a spray bottle you would add some water to make it an ink you can spray but then you have the ink in a diluted form. The Distress Oxide Spray is the same as in the ink pad but then liquid.

Techniek EEN kleuren
De Distress Oxide inkt kan na goed schudden direct uit de fles gebruikt worden, met een beetje op een stempelblok of craft sheet bijvoorbeeld kun je het direct gebruiken met een penseel. De bloemen zijn gekleurd met een penseel in verschillende kleuren.

Technique ONE colouring
The Distress Oxide ink can be used after a thorough shake straight from the bottle, with a bit on a acrylic block or craft sheet for instance you can use it with a brush. the flowers are coloured with a brush in different colours.

I used Twisted Citron, Vintage Photo & Peeled Paint for the flowers. The flowers are the Tim Holtz Wildflower stems #2.

Techniek TWEE Inkt Spread
Voor deze techniek heb ik de Media Spatula's van Tonic Studios gebruikt. De inkt heb ik aangebracht net als je een boterham smeert, aanbrengen en uitsmeren:-)

Technique TWO Ink Spread
For this technique I used the Media Spatula's by Tonic Studios. I applied the ink just like you would spread a sandwich, apply and spread:-)

Ik heb Picked Raspberry en Spiced Marmalade gebruikt als kleuren voor de achtergrond.

I used Picked Raspberry and Spiced Marmalade as colours for the background.

Voor dit label heb ik alleen Spiced Marmalade gebruikt wat een leuk contrast geeft met de witte bloem.

For this tag I only used Spiced Marmalade which gives a fun contrast with the white of the flower.

Voor de techniek heb ik de Nuvo Media Spatula gebruikt om de inkt uit te smeren, ze zijn verkrijgbaar in een pakje van twee en ik zeg bijna nooit dat je een bepaalt gereedschap moet hebben omdat we allemaal anders zijn in leven en in knutselen. Ik vind de spatels echt fijn, net als al de andere Nuvo gereedschappen zijn ze makkelijk vast te houden en hebben een goede maat voor knutselen. Een keukenspatel is een beetje aan de grote kant. En ze werken super.

I used the Nuvo media spatula to spread the ink they come in a package of two and I hardly ever talk about a must have tool because we are all different in life and in crafting.

But I really like the spatula, like all nuvo tools they are easy to hold and have a great craft size. A kitchen spatula is quite big to use in crafting. And they work great.

Techniek DRIE Inkt Swipe
Een super snelle en eenvoudige techniek met een vochtig doekje en het geeft een heel mooi kleurverloop. Ik heb hier Mermaid Lagoon & Shaded Lilac gebruikt.

Technique THREE Ink Swipe
A real simple and fast technique with a wet wipe and it gives a gorgeous blended background. Here I used Mermaid Lagoon & Shaded Lilac.

Een echt eenvoudige techniek om een mooie zachte achtergrond te maken. Hier nog meer bloemen van de eerste techniek.

A real simple technique to make a nice soft background. Here some more flowers from the first technique.

Techniek VIER Flat Swipe
Deze techniek is een variatie op de vorige met drie kleuren deze keer en een iets andere manier van aanbrengen. Hier heb ik drie warme kleuren gebruikt Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber & Fired Brick.

Technique FOUR Flat Swipe
This technique is a variation on the previous one with three colours this time and a slightly different way of applying. Here I used three warm colours Spiced Marmalade, Fossilized Amber & Fired Brick.

Ik heb de bloemen van Tim Holtz Wildflower stems #2 nog een keer gebruikt en nu in zwart in combinatie met Tim Holtz Shadow script #2.

I used the Tim Holtz Wildflower stems #2 again now in black and combined them with Tim Holtz Shadow script #2.

Techniek VIJF Wet Wipe Buff
Nog een techniek met een vochtig doekje en weer een andere manier om de inkt aan te brengen. Ik heb Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint & Mermaid Lagoon gebruikt.

Technique Five Wet Wipe Buff
Another technique with a wet wipe and another way to apply the ink. I used Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint & Mermaid Lagoon.

Deze techniek geeft ook een zachte achtergrond met mooi kleurverloop. Voor de kaart heb ik CraftEmotions Flower Mix Large & Tropical leaves gebruikt.

This technique also gives a nice soft blended background. For the card I used CraftEmotions Flower Mix Large & Tropical leaves

Techniek ZES Drip & Dip
Dit is een lekkere klieder techniek, laat de kleur gaan waar hij heen wil met een beetje sturen:-) Ik heb hier Mermaid Lagoon & Shaded Lilac gebruikt.

Technique SIX Drip & Dip
This is a nice messy technique, just let the colour go where it wants to go with a little bit of control. Here I used Mermaid Lagoon & Shaded Lilac.

Techniek ZEVEN Painting
Voor de laatste techniek is de inkt rechtstreeks uit de fles gebruikt en aangebracht met een plat penseel. Ik heb Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint & Twisted citron gebruikt.

Technique SEVEN Painting
For the last technique the ink is used straight from the bottle and applied with a flat brush. I used Shaded Lilac, Peeled Paint & Twisted citron.

Ik heb de achtergrond gebruikt om 2 kaarten te maken met zwart als een mooi contrast. CraftEmotions Flower Mix Large & Tropical leaves gebruikt. Voor deze kaart CraftEmotions Tropical leaves gebruikt.

I used the background to make 2 cards with black as a pretty contrast. For this card I used CraftEmotions Tropical leaves.
