Hallo lieve knutsel vrienden, vandaag wil ik wat laten zien waar ik een hoop vragen over heb gekregen. Deze post gaat helemaal over spiegelkarton. Ik heb enkele voorbeelden, dingen die je kunt maken met een spiegelkarton en ik laat je verschillende manieren zien om het karton te plakken, wat een op zich al een hele uitdaging kan zijn.

his post will be all about mirror card. I have some examples, things you can make with mirror card and I show you different ways to adhere the card which can be quite a challenge.

Eerst wil ik zeggen dat ik spiegelkaart een behoorlijke uitdaging vind, omdat ik niet van witte ruimte op mijn projecten houd. Witte ruimte kan echt wit zijn, maar het kan ook een ruimte zijn waar niets gebeurt, dus geen patroon of kleur overloop of iets dergelijks.

First I want to say I find mirror card quite a challenge as I don't like white space on my projects. White space can be actual white but it can also be space where nothing is happening, so no pattern or colour blend or anything like that.

Voor deze kaart heb ik Mirror Card Satin copper mine gebruikt voor de achtergrond met de flourish embossingfolder. Voor het woord Hello heb ik Mirror Card - 6 x 6 papierblok - Moonlight Rose gebruikt en Nuvo Glitter Drops – golden sunset als leuk accent.

For this card I used Mirror Card Satin copper mine for the background with the flourish embossing folder. For the word Hello I used Mirror Card - 6 x 6 paper pad - Moonlight Rose and Nuvo Glitter Drops – golden sunset as a fun accent.

Voor deze kaart heb ik ook Mirror Card Satin copper mine gebruikt voor de achtergrond met de Sizzix Mechanics embossing folder. De Tim Holtz Bigz Die - Garden Greens en Tattered flowers met Mirror Card - Flourishing Green (verwacht in April) dit zat in de craft kit en komt nieuw in de collectie. Voor de lichte bloemen heb ik Nuvo Shimmer Powder - falling leaves (komt ook nieuw in de collectie) gebruikt en Nuvo - Crystal Drops Gloss - Auburn Pearl als bloemen hart.

with Mirror Card - Flourishing Green (expected in April) this was in the craft kit and will be new to the collection. For the light colour flowers I used Nuvo Shimmer Powder - falling leaves gebruikt

En Nuvo - Crystal Drops Gloss - Auburn Pearl als bloemen hart.

Dus voor mij moet ik manieren bedenken om het gladde, strakke te omzeilen en ik vond verschillende manieren die voor mij werken, embossing is daar een van.

So for me I have to think of ways to get around the smooth and clean surface and I found different ways that work for me, embossing is one of them.

Voor deze kaarten heb ik het prachtige Mirror Card Satin - Silky Sky met een regenboog aan kleuren erin. Ik heb het positief en negatief van de Tim Holtz Mixed Media 2 stans gebruikt. De bloemen zijn de van de Tim Holtz - Small Tattered Florals set. En de kaarten zijn afgewerkt met de lichte Crystal Drops Gloss - Bubblegum Blush, de doorschijnende Jewel Drops – strawberry coulis en de donkere Crystal Drops - Autumn Red

For these cards I used the gorgeous Mirror Card Satin - Silky Sky with a rainbow of colours in it. I used the positive and negative of the Tim Holtz Mixed Media 2 die. The flowers are from the Tim Holtz - Small Tattered Florals set. And I finished with the light coloured Crystal Drops Gloss - Bubblegum Blush the clear drying Jewel Drops – strawberry coulis and the dark Crystal Drops - Autumn Red.

En dan manieren om de spiegelkarton te plakken, heb ik een aantal verschillende opties die "kliedervrij" werken, want dat is het grootste probleem met spiegelkaart.

And now for ways to adhere the mirror card, I have some different options that work mess free because that is the biggest problem with mirror card.

Voor deze kaart heb ik weer Mirror Card Satin copper mine gebruikt voor de achtergrond met de Sizzix Mechanics embossing folder. Ik heb de tekst gestanst met de Tim Holtz Friendship Words: Script en ik heb de kaart afgewerkt met Nuvo Glitter Drops – chocolate fondue.

For this card I also used Mirror Card Satin copper mine for the background with the Sizzix Mechanics embossing folder. I cut the sentiment with the Tim Holtz Friendship Words: Script die and used the Nuvo Glitter Drops – chocolate fondue to finish the card.

Omdat de spiegelkaart een soort van folielaag op de bovenkant heeft die vrij waterbestendig is, zal eventuele lijm niet iets in het papier trekken, maar het blijft echt op de bovenkant liggen, wat de mogelijkheden een beetje beperkt. En ik hou altijd van verschillende opties en ik heb wat getest en ik heb een paar tips en trucs voor het werken met spiegelkarton.

Because mirror card has sort of a foiled layer on top that is pretty waterproof any glue will not sink in the paper or set but really stays on top, which limits your options a bit. And I always love to have different options and I did some testing and I have a few tips and trick for working with mirror card.

Op deze kaart heb ik Craft Perfect - Mirror Card - Rustic Dusk (verwacht in April) dit zat ook in de craft kit en komt nieuw in de collectie. Ik heb The Crafter's Workshop - 6 x 6 Doodling Templates - mini screen print stencil gebruikt met embellishment mousse – orange blush en Expanding Mousse – Tuscan gold.

On this card I used the Craft Perfect - Mirror Card - Rustic Dusk (expected in April) this was also in the craft kit and will be new to the collection. Voor de Tim Holtz Thinlits - Detailed Butterflies heb ik Nuvo embossing powder Cool Jade en Gold Enchantment gebruikt in verschillende lagen. Hier is de video waarin ik alles wat ik alles vertel over het werken met spiegelkarton. Veel kijkplezier!
